What this site collects, why, and what you can do about it. Written to be read, not to be survived.

1. Who we are

Jobs in Cyber Security (“we”, “us”, “the site”) operates the website at jobsincybersecurity.com. For any privacy question, or to exercise a right described below, contact contact@jobsincybersecurity.com.

2. The short version

This is a static website. It has no user accounts, no login, no contact form, no comment system, no advertising network and no third-party analytics or tracking scripts. We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not build advertising profiles.

The only personal information we hold is what you choose to send us by email.

3. Information we collect

3.1 Information you give us

If you email us — to ask a question, report a correction or submit a job listing — we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and whatever is in your message. We use it only to reply and to act on what you asked for.

3.2 Server logs

Our hosting provider records standard web server logs when a page is requested. These typically include the IP address, the date and time, the page requested, the referring page and the browser user-agent string. These logs exist for security, abuse prevention and troubleshooting. We do not use them to identify individuals or to build profiles, and we do not combine them with any other data.

3.3 Information we do not collect

  • We do not collect résumés, CVs or job applications through this site.
  • We do not ask for or store payment details.
  • We do not collect special-category data such as health, biometric, or demographic information.
  • We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

4. Cookies and local storage

This site sets no cookies of its own and uses no advertising or analytics cookies. Your browser may keep the site’s stylesheet, script and images in its ordinary cache; that is a normal browser function and is not tracking.

Because we set no non-essential cookies, no cookie consent banner is required. If you later add analytics or advertising to this site, that changes and a compliant consent mechanism becomes necessary in several jurisdictions.

Pages on this site link to external websites — certification bodies, government statistics sources, job boards and employers. Once you follow such a link you are on that organisation’s website and subject to its privacy practices, not ours. We have no control over what those sites collect and we are not responsible for their content or practices.

6. How we use email you send us

We use the contents of your email to answer your question or process your request. We do not add email correspondents to any marketing list, and we do not pass your message to third parties except where we are legally required to.

7. How long we keep things

Email correspondence is retained for as long as it is useful for the matter it relates to and any reasonable follow-up, and is then deleted. Server logs are retained according to our hosting provider’s standard retention period, typically a matter of weeks.

Where the UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies, we rely on: legitimate interests for keeping secure server logs and for operating and protecting the site; and legitimate interests or the steps prior to a contract for replying to correspondence you initiate.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you; to have it corrected or deleted; to object to or restrict certain processing; to data portability; and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. California residents have specific rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, to delete, to correct, and to opt out of sale or sharing — we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined.

To exercise any right, email contact@jobsincybersecurity.com. We will not discriminate against you for making a request. We may need to verify your identity before acting, and we will respond within the period required by the applicable law.

10. Security

The site is served over HTTPS. Because we hold very little personal information and operate no database or user accounts, the attack surface is deliberately small. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of information sent to us by email.

11. International transfers

Our hosting and email providers may process data in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

12. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially we will update the “last updated” date at the top and, where the change is significant, note it on the site. Continued use of the site after a change indicates acceptance of the revised policy.
